Expressing their concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), both Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Sunday said that a military operation in the restive areas of the province was no solution to the problem of militancy and that political parties should play their role for the restoration of peace in these parts, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The two parties also agreed on playing the role of a strong opposition in the National Assembly (NA).

The agreement was reached at a meeting between the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and former NA speaker and PTI stalwart Asad Qaiser, who called on the former in Islamabad.

The PTI and the JUI-F also decided to form a political committee so that misunderstandings between the two parties could be removed and a course of action could be devised for future.

Describing the national budget presented recently as the IMF-Budget, both leaders said it was anti-people as there was nothing in it that could provide relief to the masses.

The overall political situation in the country also came under discussion at the meeting.

Both parties also agreed to play their role for establishing cordial relations with Afghanistan.

Fazl and Asad said that Afghans were like brothers to Pakistanis and they desired that both Pakistan and Afghanistan had exemplary ties with each other.

The two parties also demanded the setting up of economic corridors at border crossings between the two countries.

They were of the view that economic activity would job opportunities for the locals and that there would be prosperity in the region.

Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, PTI’s Central Deputy Secretary Information, was also present on the occasion.
