Rains in Next Week: PDMA issues 'Urban Flooding Alert' ahead of monsoon in Punjab

Rain is expected in Punjab starting next week, prompting an urban flooding alert ahead of the monsoon season.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, this year's monsoon is forecasted to bring 35% more rainfall than usual.
The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has sent a letter to the provincial administration regarind flooding alert.
According to the letter, the entire month of July will see rainfall ranging from 15 to 70 millimetres.
Heavy rain is expected in Upper Punjab, Central Punjab, and Southern Punjab.
PDMA Punjab Director General Irfan Ali Kathia urged the administration to ensure precautionary measures are in place before the rains begin.
He emphasized the importance of cleaning waterways and completing drainage arrangements promptly.
