PCB to promote quality domestic cricket by conducting tournaments in three formats

Chairman Naqvi chairs 3-hour-long meeting; Decides performers in domestic cricket will only be eligible for national team; A master coach to be appointed to train coaches;

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has given principled approval to a plan aimed at promoting quality domestic cricket and has decided to organize tournaments across all three formats to enhance the domestic cricket system in the country.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a three-hour-long meeting chaired by the PCB chairman discussed recommendations and suggestions to promote quality domestic cricket.

According to the meeting's decisions, the standard of coaching for domestic cricket will also be improved. A master coach will be appointed to train the coaches.

Additionally, the domestic contracts will be reviewed, and players will be required to participate in domestic cricket to be eligible for the national team.

The meeting also discussed recommendations and suggestions to promote quality domestic cricket. The meeting reviewed the structure of domestic cricket in India, Australia, England, and New Zealand.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that quality domestic cricket will be promoted at all levels and tournaments will be organized from club level to national level.

The PCB chairman said top coaches will train new talent to enhance their skills while players will be given opportunities based on performance, fitness, and merit.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said promoting quality domestic cricket will help bridge the gap with international cricket.

Mohsin Naqvi said selection of players will be based solely on performance and fitness and there will be no compromise on merit, performance, and fitness.

He said emergency basis efforts will be made to bring new talent to the forefront and investment in new talent will help promote cricket at the grassroots level.
