Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday felicitated Narendra Modi as he took oath of the office of the Prime Minister of India, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a post uploaded on his X platform handle, Shehbaz Sharif wrote: “Felicitations to Narendra Modi on taking oath as the Prime Minister of India.”

Narendra Modi was sworn in as Indian prime minister on Sunday for a third term after the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won the general election with 293 seats – a much lower margin than predicted, contrary to the 234 seats won by the opposition.

In March last, PM Shehbaz Sharif had thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for felicitations on his election to the top political office in Pakistan.

"Thank you @narendramodi for felicitations on my election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan," Shehbaz Sharif had written on X platform.

Days earlier, Indian PM Modi had congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his taking oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan.
"Congratulations to @CMShehbaz on being sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan," PM Modi had said in a post on X.
