Erica Robin glitters in gold during prestigious Cannes debut

The 24-year-old, Erica Robin, who holds the title of Miss Universe Pakistan, has stolen all the spotlight with her amazing glittery attendance during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2024.

Clad in a dazzling gold dress designed by renowned Pakistani fashion designer Nomi Ansari, Robin captured onlookers and photographers with her elegance and impactful posing gestures: however, the shimmery ensemble comprising of a contemporary fitted gown with an alluring slit on thigh, highlighting her stature as a rising star on the global stage, representing both beauty and pride.

Taking to her Instagram account, Robin shared her excitement and gratitude with her followers. “Feeling incredibly honoured and humbled to represent Pakistan on a global stage at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 as the youngest woman and beauty queen to walk on their prestigious red carpet,” she wrote. “I’m grateful for each step on this journey - from my home to Cannes. Thank you for the opportunity and the love.”

She furthered on, “I am so blessed to be a guest at the premiere of The Substance starring the iconic Demi Moore and especially during my reign as Miss Universe Pakistan.”

Karachi-born Robin left an indelible mark on the Miss Universe 2023 pageant with her enchanting charisma and glamourous ensembles, relaying the rich cultural traditions of Pakistan. Hosted by El Salvador, the 72nd edition of the annual pageant saw the model secure a position among the top 20 contestants out of over 80 participating countries. However, she did not advance to the top 10.

Previously, Robin had openly stated, “For the first time ever, Pakistan will have a participant in the Miss Universe contest. I'm under a lot of pressure and have a lot of responsibility. However, I won't do anything that would harm the reputation of the country.”

While women of Pakistani origin have previously participated in local-level beauty pageants held in various countries, Pakistan has never been represented on the Miss Universe stage—until now. In an interview with Voice of America, Erica previously expressed her enthusiasm for the competition, stating that she would be overjoyed if she were to win, proudly proclaiming that “she belongs to Pakistan.”
