A seasoned politician and head of the Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed escaped from the Islamabad District Court in a hurry after getting to know that there was no hearing of any case against him.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Sheikh Rasheed mistakenly arrived at the Islamabad court with his legal team on Monday morning.

When he found that the case was not scheduled for hearing today made a hasty exit from the court premises in a bid to avoid media attention and potential embarrassment.

On April 24, Sheikh Rasheed filed the petition through his lawyers Sardar Raziq and Sardar Shehbaz for acquittal in the May 9 vandalism cases.

Speaking to media outside the court, Sheikh Rashid said all the cases registered against him are fake and bogus.

He said that he was appearing in the court regularly, adding that he would fight his cases and the courts would decide all the cases in his favour.
