One policeman was martyred while two were seriously injured in the attack by dacoits on a police check post in Kashmore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the robbers stormed the boundary check post of Gehilpur police station and attacked with modern weapons indiscriminately.

A policeman, Abdul Aziz, was martyred on the spot during the attack by the robbers, while two policemen Molabakhsh and Shehmoor were injured.

After killing and injuring the official, the dacoits also took the government weapons with them.

Sources said that police and Rangers are exchanging fire with modern weapons against robbers.

Meanwhile, bandits went rampant across the district and abducted one more citizen named Siraj Ahmed, a person working at an ice factory in Badani police station limits.

Police said, the number of hostages has increased to more than 10.

However, a heavy contingent of police and rangers has left for Katcha to rescue the abductees.
