Avneet Kaur slams critics for mocking her Cannes appearance

Avneet Kaur has achieved a remarkable feat by creating history at the prestigious 77th Cannes Film Festival, where she has become the youngest actress in India to reveal her movie poster at the esteemed event at the tender age of 22.

However, she was brutally trolled for being at the event, and people filled her comment section with hate comments. Now the lady has opened up and slammed the people who mocked her for the same.

In an interview with News18, Avneet talked about her Cannes 2024 and said she is proud of her presence at the prestigious film festival.

However, when she was asked about the negativity around it on social media, she called it unfortunate and recalled how people questioned her for attending the event and mocked her. Talking about the same, she said:

“It was the biggest news and everyone should be proud of that and take pride in that. If Taha Shah or anyone has gone there, it’s a great thing. People should be happy for that. He’s gone for his film, I think, and I went for my film as well. I went to release my poster. People do ask me, ‘Yeh kyun chali gayi waha? Iska kya jana bana?’ Ulta dekh ke khush hona chahiye. I don’t understand why there is so much negativity without any reason."

Speaking along the same lines, Avneet Kaur mentioned that instead of making a person's day by saying good things about them, people try to spread hatred in the comments section. Appreciating Nancy Tyagi for her look, the actress stated that people should be happy for them as they represented India on a global platform. She said:

"Why do you need to spread that in the comments section? You could at least say something good about that person, make their day but they want to do all this! I don’t understand why they do this. I just feel this year has been a very special one for India to go to such a big global platform and represent the nation. So why not be happy for us? Nancy (Tyagi) has done so well. She was all over the Internet. We should all support each other.”

On May 23, 2024, taking to her IG handle, Avneet Kaur surprised her fans by posting a video of her look from the Cannes Film Festival. For her Cannes debut look, the actress stunned in a white-hued lacy jumpsuit and looked like a vision to behold. Her outfit had dramatic shoulder details, a long trail, and 3D embellishments all over it. Avneet completed her look with transparent heels, soft makeup, and a half-tied-up hairdo adorned with floral accessories.

For her red-carpet look, Avneet Kaur slipped into a blue-hued sequinned mini dress with a low plunging neckline and thin straps. She paired her outfit with a double-hued trail, which had maroon hues inside and a blue tone on the outside. Allowing her outfit to outshine, the young star completed her look with minimal accessories, including a pair of diamond earrings and embellished stilettos. She was seen walking the red carpet with utmost confidence and swooned our hearts with her style game.

It is pertinent to mention here Avneet Kaur is a social media influencer and a popular face in the entertainment industry. She made her TV debut with the dance reality show, Dance India Dance and later proved her talent and versatility in many TV soaps. She marked her Bollywood debut in 2023 with Tiku Weds Sheru, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
