Amid the speculations that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is planning to get the bail cancelled granted last year to PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, she said on Wednesday that such moves could not deter her.
“Pakistan, please bear witness and make note of it. This does NOT deter me,” she said while commenting on reports circulating on social media.

In another tweet, Maryam praised the Sindh Bar Council for demanding a suo motu notice of the kidnapping of Sindh police chief in connection with the arrest of PML-N leader Capt Safdar, asking other bars to follow the suit.

In November last year, the Lahore High Court had granted bail to Maryam who was incarcerated on money laundering charges in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
Meanwhile, PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday asked Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa to tell on whose orders the hotel room in which Maryam Nawaz was raided.
Demanding to explain why this incident happened, she said the information should be made part of the inquiry report.
The Sindh IG was kidnapped for the very reason to barge into Maryam’s room, the spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the inquiry report would be incomplete without the sharing that.
Apology should be extended to Maryam and all the daughters of the nation besides making part of the report, Marriyum demanded.
“If law cannot protect the Maryam Nawaz then no daughter of the nation is safe,” she remarked. “The nation wants to know on whose order this happened? Why happened? Who did it?”
The demand came after Gen Bajwa called on Tuesday PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and assured him of a detailed probe into the incident which shocked the entire country.
Gen Bajwa had contacted Bilawal who earlier said he was ashamed of the incident and could not show his face to the people. He had asked the army chief to look into the incident and expose the culprits.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had announced formation of a ministerial committee to probe into the matter.
This entire episode of registration of a case against Capt Safdar and kidnapping of the provincial police chief leading to the arrest of the PML-N leader after the police forced their into the room where Maryam was staying along with her spouse created unrest among the police ranks.
Many officers, including the Sindh IG, applied for leave in protest over the humiliation faced by the entire force. However, the situation calmed down a bit as they withdrew their applications for 10 days after the promise of an impartial inquiry.
Earlier, it was reported in media that Interior Minister Ijaz Shah said that the lives of PML-N leadership could be in danger because of the party’s narrative.
