In another woeful incident, three dacoits, who were trying to flee after a robbery, were beaten to death by a mob in Multan, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

The Police said that three unknown robbers snatched cash and a motorcycle from a citizen near Adewale at gunpoint and fled. They were chased by the locals. On reaching Ada Matti Tal, robbers opened fire indiscriminately on the locals when they were encircled. As a result of the firing, two people were shot.

Hearing the gunshot, more people in the area began to gather. Before the robbers could flee, locals grabbed the robbers and yanked them off their vehicles.

The gathered crowd then beat two robbers to death while the third robber was seriously injured. Later he died in the hospital.

The injured citizens identified as Nawaz and Junaid were also shifted to Nishtar Hospital where their conditions are critical.

This is the second incident within a week in which crime and punishment came in quick succession in Multan.

Earlier, three dacoits were also lynched by the mob at Gardezi Market in the limits of Gulgasht Police Station on March 28.
