Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Muhammad Zubair Saturday launched scathing attack on the government as new statistics shows the inflation has hit alarming level in the first month of the new year and new decade.
Zubair said according to the figures released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the inflation had reached 14.6 percent during January, the highest in more than a decade.
He said when the PML-N left the government the same ration was less than 4 percent.
He said the rural food inflation has reached 23.8% and urban food inflation touched 19.5%, making it harder for the people even to get food and nothing can happen worse than this.
“For the poor masses, food inflation is the most relevant indicator and is a guide how terrible life has become under PTI government. This will also get even worse since the present government has no team and no capacity to manage Pakistan’s economy.”
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan either has no understanding or is being misled by his economic team.
“He (Imran Khan) continues to talk of better times but each month his own government ministries are releasing numbers that should be embarrassing for IK and his team. But do wait for IK to react. Let’s see who he blames this time for this economic disaster,” concluded Zubair.
