The process of any Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader returning to the party has been halted until the release of the party's founder, former premier Imran Khan, from jail.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, this decision has been made by PTI founder Imran Khan himself.
The sources said that only after Imran Khan's release would the return of leaders be decided.
Following the PTI founder's instructions, a seven-member committee has also been constituted to determine the inclusion of any leader in the party again.
This committee will be headed by former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while former speaker Asad Qaiser, Hamid Khan, Shehryar Afridi, Barrister Gohar, and Shibli Faraz will be members.
Additionally, a female member will also be included to oversee the return of women to the party.
PTI leader Shandana Gulzar will provide reports on women’s cases and reasons for leaving the party.
The sources said the committee will send a list of the returning leaders with their details to the party founder for a final decision.
