PPP nominates Sarfraz Bugti as Balochistan Assembly elects new CM tomorrow

The election for the chief minister of Balochistan will be held on Saturday (March 2) in Quetta with all eyes on Sargraz Bugti, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The PPP has nominated former interior minister Sarfraz Bugti as its candidate for the Balochistan chief ministership.
The decision was taken at a high-level party meeting chaired by former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Besides Bugti, others in the race are Mir Zahoor Buledi, Mir Sadiq Umrani, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri.
The nomination papers for the election of the chief minister will be submitted today (Friday) and the voting will be held on Saturday.
Newly elected Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai announced the schedule for the election of the leader of the house during a session of the provincial legislature on Thursday.
PML-N nominee Abdul Khaliq Achakzai became the speaker while PPP’s Ghazala Gola bagged the deputy speaker slot without facing any opposition during Thursday BA session. Mr Achakzai was nominated by the PML-N for the slot at the eleventh hour. Both candidates were declared winners unopposed as no one else had submitted papers for the posts.
