Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) on Tuesday claimed that the Punjab government had imposed a ban on the movement of flour to other provinces, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

PFMA chairman Asim Raza said that fears of a shortage of flour have increased in other provinces especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to the ban.

He further claims that there is a plentiful supply of flour available in Punjab provinces despite the grinding of wheat by flour mills from private stock.

Raza said that the wrong policy of Punjab would affect the flour mill owners financially and also create a shortage of flour in KP.

He appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab to take up the issue in the larger interest of the people.

Punjab Flour Mills Association chairman Iftikhar Watto also urged the Punjab government to react timely to save other provinces from the flour crisis.

The Punjab government should immediately resume delivery of flour to other provinces, he demanded.
