A woman committed suicide in Hafizabad by swallowing poison after a brawl with her husband over inflated electricity bills, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to the neighbours, the deceased Fauzia was the mother-of-six and the couple had domestic issues.
Reportedly, she and her husband had a brawl over an inflated electricity bill, making the woman take the extreme step.
Police rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
The deceased's husband is on the run after the incident while police took the body to the hospital for autopsy.
Countrywide protests against the inflated bills have been going on for a week. Angry protesters burnt the bills in some districts.
The protests prompted the prime minister to call meetings on the matter.
Addressing media persons, the prime minister said the issue is being overplayed.
