Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said in a special conversation with 24 News that the life of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) is in danger.
Rana Sanaullah said that the concerns expressed by the Commissioner regarding his security are not unfounded.
The interior minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a fascist party and with the views of its leader, such an incident could happen.
Pertinent to mention here that earlier today, after a unanimous decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on prohibited foreign funding to PTI, CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja demanded security for his safety.
According to the ECP sources, the CEC also recorded his statement that on whose shoulders will lie the responsibility if anything happens to him.
“We have given the decision based on the facts,” said CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja.
