Rape accused dead in police custody in Lahore

A rape accused died on Wednesday in police custody in Sabzazar area of Lahore, reported 24JNewsHD TV channel.

Reportedly, police arrested 45-year-old Ghulam Abbas on the charge of rape from a cemetery last night after getting a call on police helpline 15. 

According to police, the accused consumed some poisonous thing on which his condition worsened. He was taken to the Jinnah Hospital where he expired after four hours. 

Police claimed that the accused had already swallowed some poisonous thing before his arrest and he had put a note in his pocket. 

The accused was also wanted in another case of molestation registered against him in the Sabzazar police station under Section 335/22.
