Transgender Chiriya shot dead in McLeod Gang

Some unidentified assailants barged into a house of a transgender in McLeod Gang area of South Punjab and shot him dead on the spot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Police sources said that the transgender who was later identified as Asif alias Chiriya was present at home.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, a police team reached the area and shifted the dead body of the transgender to a local hospital for autopsy.
Police team after registering a case of murder against unknown accused started investigation.
DPO Kamran Asghar after taking notice of the incident directed to arrest the culprits involved in this heinous crime.
After directives from DPO, a police team of McLeoad Gang raided different locations and arrested the accused within few hours.
The DPO said that providing safe and secure environment to public was the top-most priority of the Punjab police.
