Population census to continue in Karachi till April 15

The Federal Bureau of Statistics has decided to continue the seventh digital census process in Karachi till April 15 where 0.6 million households are yet to be enumerated, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday. 

Almost 90 percent census process has been completed in the country. 

Manwar Ali Ghangharu, director of the Sindh Federal Statistical Institute, said that the population of Karachi has increased to 1.23 million as of Sunday. However, 0.6 million households will be counted in the census. The average household in Karachi consists of 5.8 people. 

He said that the census staff will be dispatched after determining the areas wherever the census staff has not yet reached. For this reason, the census staff will continue to perform duties till April 15.
