Provincial Minister of Sindh Nasir Hussain Shah Saturday said the administrations of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and District Municipal Corporations (DMCs) will be shared amongst the PPP and MQM-P, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
He was talking to the media after Pakistan People’s Party’s Waqar Mehdi was elected unopposed in the Sindh Senate elections after MQM candidates Saleem Siddiqui, Tariq Mansoor and Sabeen Ghauri withdrew their documents from the Election Commission office in the presence of PPP leaders. Alongside the MQM candidates, PPP’s covering candidate Aajiz Dhamrah also withdrew from the elections.
Nasir Shah said that both parties are allies and the administrations of KMC and some DMCs will be given to MQM candidates after the resignation of Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab as per the contract.
He said that MQM has given some names for the Administrator and they will be appointed whenever the party says although some amendments are demanded in the municipal laws by the party which will also be carried out before the 15th of January.
PPP’s Provincial Minister Shah defied that any deal has been made saying that giving the Administrator-ship instead of Senator-ship is not a part of any deal but they were points of the parties’ alliance. He also said that they are not the ones who run away from the elections, some people have been declaring themselves as Mayor on Social Media but the polls will unveil everything.
