Fire guts several shops at Islamabad’s Aabpara Market

A massive fire broke out at Aabpara Market in Islamabad on Wednesday engulfing several garment shops, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The blaze started in a cloth (dupatta) shop in the market in the morning which spread to other shops later.
A Rescue spokesman said that the fire completely burnt three shops while materials in the adjacent shop were damaged.
Fire brigade officials informed that smoke could be seen rising from Aabpara Market where fire spread quickly, and the police were informed of the incident by the area’s residents.

The fire brigade was informed about the blaze around 9 O’clock and fire tenders were actively participating in the operation to douse the blaze.
No casualties were reported as the firefighters faced difficulties in their operation due to thick smoke engulfing the market and the narrow streets leading to it.
The shopkeepers were busy in the saving their goods from their shops on their own.
