In a major operation, the FIA’s Gujranwala Zone has arrested Bashir Ahmed, a high-profile fugitive involved in the Libya boat tragedy and wanted for multiple human trafficking cases, reported 24NewsHD TV.

According to the FIA spokesperson, Bashir Ahmed was listed in the Red Book of most-wanted individuals, with over ten cases filed against him.

The Composite Circle Gujrat registered these cases in 2022, accusing him of swindling millions by promising victims illegal passage to Europe.

Bashir Ahmed allegedly extorted Rs1.8 million from each of the twelve victims, later detaining them illegally in Nigeria and Libya with the assistance of accomplices.

He attempted to transport them to Italy by boat from Libya. Utilizing advanced technology, FIA tracked and captured him in Hafizabad. Raids are underway to apprehend his co-conspirators.
