A video of a Pakistani girl celebrating her divorce has been circulating on Facebook. In the video, she cuts a cake with the caption “Happy Divorce” written on it. She also cuts her Nikah dupatta and tears up wedding photos embracing her future as a single woman.
The girl posted the video on social media and is getting backlash.

The video is getting severe public backlash. Social media users are of the view that divorce is a very painful experience and it should not be celebrated like that, rather it should be condemned.
A social media user wrote, ‘Even if she was in an unhealthy relationship, the divorce should not be celebrated because such celebrations degrade a pious institution like marriage which protects the rights of women and is the basis of every civilized society’.
A social media user wrote, ‘Maybe she needs to get married again to restore her faith in marriage and Allah”.
Many said that the girl is just pretending to be happy but she looks sad and lost.
Many were of the view that her husband was a lucky man who divorced a girl who was ridiculing the institution of marriage.
