In one of the most moving incidents, two pregnant women in Thatta died on Monday after they could not be shifted to a hospital because of the road, which was already in a dilapidated condition and had developed more cracks following recent heavy monsoon rains, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The women belonged to Jaman Malah and Karro villages, situated on the outskirts of Thatta.
According to details, following a deterioration in the women’s health, an ambulance was called to take them to a hospital.
And it was after quite a long wait that the ambulance finally arrived.
Now the ambulance had to take the same route to shift these women to a hospital.
At last the journey started, but none had any idea that it would prove to be life-taking as both of them died on the way and so did two baby girls in their wombs.
Everybody in their localities was in tears when their bodies were brought to their homes.
Family members of the deceased said that although the Sindh government made tall claims about its governance, still it had failed to provide a proper road infrastructure to the people of the province.
