Pakistani actress Mariyam Nafees has appeared as a guest on Ahmed Ali’s podcast, where she shared her thoughts on polygamy, stirring up a mix of opinions.
In the segment where Ahmed and Mariyam had to react to statements about whether they should be bothered by them, the question arose about whether every man should marry three times like Shoaib Malik.
The actress mentioned that there are two approaches to marriage: one at a time and all at once. She expressed that if a man chooses to marry one at a time, she has no issue with it. However, Ahmed disagreed, stating that their religion permits multiple marriages. She clarified that while the religion allows more than one wife, it is crucial to provide equal justice to each wife, which religion further stated is practically impossible and not in line with human capabilities.
Mariyam expressed her deep respect for the teachings of their religion. However, as a woman, she doubts that anyone would willingly agree to share her husband. If faced with such a situation, she mentioned that she would request her husband to leave her first before proceeding with another marriage.
Ahmed holds a contrasting view on this matter. He believes that it is feasible to marry four women simultaneously and be the provider for four families, which he considers a positive aspect.
Mariyam assessed the cricketer's marriages and noted that he did not marry three women simultaneously. Therefore, she believes it is acceptable if he ended a relationship where he was unhappy and then married in a different order.
