Six flights cancelled, 22 delayed after fog engulfs Islamabad airport again

As many as six national and international flights were cancelled while 22 were delayed after dense fog on Thursday once again disrupted the flights’ operation at the Islamabad International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) flight from Jeddah was delayed by six hours, another PIA’s flight from Islamabad to Skardu was delayed by two hours.
Similarly, the national flag carrier’s flight from Karachi was delayed by three hours.
Yet another flight of the airline from Dubai, PK-134 was also six hours behind schedule.
On Wednesday too, as many as 30 flights of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other national and international flights had to be cancelled after dense fog engulfed the Islamabad International Airport.
The flights, which were cancelled, had to shuttle between Islamabad and Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi, Islamabad and Beijing, Islamabad and Sharjah, Islamabad and Riyadh and Islamabad and Jeddah.
Similarly, PIA’s flights to Gilgit and Skardu were delayed for several hours.
The situation was no different with the flights of other airlines such as SereneAir, Airblue and AirSial which were delayed for over 12 hours.
PIA’s incoming flight from Dubai landed at the airport after a delay of 18 hours.
On the other hand, the airport’s management said that the flight’s operation would resume as soon as visibility improved.
