The leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tuesday challenged the FIA summons notices against the party's founder Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, PTI Chairman Gohar Khan and Secretary Information Rauf Hasan filed a petition in the Court and made parties the Home Secretary, the complainant Deputy Director FIA and the investigating officer in the petition.
They said in the petition that the tweet from PTI founder's Twitter account was to teach unity for Pakistan and the purpose of it was to encourage the organization of a national dialogue to get the country out of the crisis.
The petitioners said the tweet from PTI founder's Twitter account was distorted by political opponents and the Deputy Director of FIA filed a complaint against him.
It was said in the complaint that the tweet had incited the soldiers of the armed forces to revolt, the petition adding that the Deputy Director's complaint is not a complaint, but a decision without a trial.
The petitioners said the investigating officer issued summons notices to the petitioners on May 31. The purpose of this complaint and summons notices is to harass the petitioners so the court should declare the complaint and summons notices null and void and stop arresting or harassing the petitioners till the decision on the petition.
