The Punjab government’s School Education Department has allowed students to wear “any warm clothing, sweaters, jackets, caps, etc., along with any socks and shoes for protection against the cold weather.”
In a bid to protect students from the severe cold wave sweeping across Punjab, the govt issued a notification easing school uniform requirements during the winter season.
According to the notification, students in both public and private schools are now permitted to wear sweaters, jackets, coats, socks, and shoes of any color to keep themselves warm.
This relaxation in the uniform policy is effective immediately and will remain in place until February 28, 2025.
The decision aims to ensure the health and well-being of students during the harsh winter conditions prevailing across the region. The Education Department emphasized that this measure is solely to safeguard children from the biting cold.
Punjab, like other parts of the country, is experiencing an intense winter season, making this timely adjustment a much-appreciated step for students and parents alike.
