The Islamabad High Court has released the written order in contempt of court case over the social media campaign against Justice Babar and his family data leak.

The Islamabad High Court has released the written order in contempt of court case over the social media campaign against Justice Babar and his family data leak.

The three-judge larger bench – consisting of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan – passed the order yesterday.

According to the FIA cybercrime wing report, it is clear that orchestrated campaigns were set in motion, the order stated, adding that information related to a few more accounts will be placed before the court at the next hearing.

The court expressed disappointment with the ISI report. The order read: “The ISI’s report was handed across the rostrum by the learned AAG, as it could not be filed earlier. We say, and not with a small degree of disappointment, that the report is rather scant. Its first two pages attempt in an apologetic tone to explain that no further progress could be made because the X accounts were closed.

“We posited a hypothetical scenario in the context of the 5th generation warfare, and asked if the enemy were to launch, say, a campaign levelling accusation of blasphemy against the President or the chief of the army staff, would ISI’s response will be a similar expression of helplessness, to which we received a rambling reply. We also asked if ISI was 5G warfare capable and were met with blankness at the bar in response.”
