WhatsApp has introduced refreshed light and dark themes in its latest beta update for Android users, rolling out under version 2.24.24.30.
Available to select testers through the Google Play Beta Programme, the update enhances the app's aesthetic appeal while refining its visual identity.
The light theme now features black accents, replacing the previous light blue, while the dark theme incorporates subtle white accents. These design updates aim to modernize the app’s interface and create a clearer distinction between WhatsApp Messenger and WhatsApp Business.
In line with the redesign, the WhatsApp Business logo has been streamlined to simply display “WhatsApp,” embracing a minimalist approach. This change aligns with similar updates made to the iOS version, ensuring a consistent look across platforms.
The new themes are being gradually rolled out to beta users, with broader availability anticipated in the coming weeks. Android users eager to explore these visual upgrades are encouraged to download the latest beta version through the Google Play Beta Programme.
WhatsApp's efforts to refine its design underscore its commitment to enhancing user experience and ensuring visual harmony across devices.
