Move over, DeepSeek! The reigning AI champ, ChatGPT, isn’t losing sleep over its new rival.

When asked about the latest AI competitor making waves in the industry, ChatGPT responded with a mix of confidence and humour:

“Hahaha… I’m not jealous—I’m just better!”

In an exclusive question-hour session with 24NewsHD, ChatGPT broke down with a touch of banter and a lot of facts how it stacks up against DeepSeek, why the newcomer is cheaper, and why competition is actually a good thing.

“Competition drives innovation, and new players in the AI space push everyone to improve,” says ChatGPT when asked about the emergence of DeepSeek. Rather than seeing it as a rival, ChatGPT views it as a positive force that expands user choices.

“DeepSeek is an interesting addition, particularly since it focuses on multilingual capabilities and advanced reasoning. If it raises the bar in AI-assisted writing, research, and problem-solving, that's great for users like you! More choices mean you get better tools tailored to your needs,” said ChatGPT.

With the rise of AI competitors like DeepSeek, questions naturally arise about how these models compare, their strengths, and why some, like DeepSeek, are significantly more cost-efficient than industry giants like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

When asked why DeepSeek is more economical, ChatGPT points to several factors:
