Mishal Malik, the wife of incarcerated Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, delivered a heartfelt video message on the longstanding struggle of Kashmiris for self-determination.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, addressing the international community and the United Nations, she questioned the failure to implement resolutions passed for Kashmir's right to self-determination.
“Since 1947, more than a dozen resolutions have been passed in the UN regarding Kashmir. I want to ask: What became of those promises and resolutions?” she asked. Mishal Malik expressed frustration, stating, “Is the law of the world blind, deaf, and mute now?”
She raised poignant questions about the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation:
“Were we born just to bury our martyrs?”
“Are we destined to remain imprisoned forever?”
“Should we live under black laws for the rest of our lives?”
Mishal Malik accused the United Nations of succumbing to India’s intransigence, saying, “Has the UN bowed down before India’s stubbornness?” She warned, “History will never forgive the UN and human rights organisations for remaining silent while atrocities were committed against Kashmiris.”
In her powerful message, she vowed that Kashmiris would continue their struggle for freedom. She said, “History and the world will bear witness that Kashmiris fought till the last drop of their blood. Insha’Allah, victory is our destiny.”
Mishal Malik lamented the apathy of the international community, saying, “The world kept watching in silence as Kashmiris sacrificed their lives.”
