Massive fire in Dallas shopping centre kills 579 animals and birds

A tragic fire at a shopping centre in Dallas, Texas, led to the death of 579 animals, most of which were small birds, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.

According to the report, rescue officials stated that all the animals succumbed to smoke inhalation during the blaze. 

The fire broke out in a section of the shopping mall housing a pet store, quickly spreading due to the dense smoke.

“It was a heartbreaking scene. Despite our best efforts, none of the animals could be saved,” said a rescue team member.

The fire was intense, requiring nearly two hours to extinguish. A total of 45 rescue personnel were deployed in the operation.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire while the local community mourns the loss of the animals.
