In a recent podcast with Ahmed Ali Butt, veteran actor Saud made allegations against Pakistani actor Shaan and renowned director Syed Noor, holding them responsible for the downfall of Lollywood, Pakistan’s once flourishing film industry. Saud stated that both figures had a major role in the industry's decline, claiming that their actions had caused long-lasting damage to Pakistani cinema.
Saud criticized Shaan and Syed Noor for prioritizing their own business ventures over the growth of the film industry. He pointed out that while the industry faced struggles even before their time, the situation worsened under their influence, leading to a steep decline in the quality and quantity of films being produced in Pakistan.
Looking back at his own career, Saud shared that during his time in the industry, Pakistan still produced films, and he enjoyed considerable success with his projects. However, Saud revealed that he was rejected the films that featured violent themes, prompting him to leave the industry and move to Karachi in search of new opportunities.
Saud also criticized Shaan for being quick to point fingers at others in the industry while failing to look at his own faults. Saud emphasized that Shaan's tendency to criticize others, without making improvements in his own conduct, had been detrimental to the industry as a whole.
It should be noted that Saud, known for his performances in several iconic Lollywood films of the 1990s, later turned to film production and established his own production house. His continuous involvement in the industry speaks for his long-standing contributions to the Pakistani film scene.
