Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has apologized to the opposition leader Chaudhry Latif Akbar, 24News HD TV reported on Wednesday.
Chaudhry Latif Akbar accepted the apology of the Prime Minister on the assembly floor, however, he vowed that there would be no compromise on the demand for removing Faheem Rabbani from the cabinet.
It is pertinent that the assembly witnessed an uproar the day as Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Sardar Fahim Akhtar Rabbani tossed a mobile phone at the former prime minister after a hard talk during debate on a privilege motion moved by opposition leader Ch. Latif Akbar. Protest demonstrations were also held in Muzaffarabad and other parts of AZK over the call of opposition parties against the misbehaviour.
Later on, Rabbani, in a video message, tendered an apology to Haider. AJK PM Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan also apologized to former prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan over the unpleasant incident.
Chaudhry Latif Akbar said that his motion for the privilege to this extent should be entrusted to the committee on the issue of Zakah and an inquiry should be made on it.
“I have been a member of the assembly seven times. This is not fair to insult a senior parliamentarian for flags. No one becomes great because of wealth but because of the character”, he hinted.
He alleged that Imran Khan’s slogan for change had taken away the consciousness of the people.
I can forgive something said about myself but I can't forgive a remark about Bilawal Bhutto, he added.
