Fearing protests against the conviction and arrest of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Toshakhana reference, additional police contingents have been deployed at different pickets in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Sources told 24News TV channel that Rangers and FC personnel would also patrol federal capital’s roads.

On the other hand, they disclosed, police had prepared lists of active PTI workers.

They said that the police as well as the district administration would also make sure that no violation of section 144 took place, which had already been enforced in the capital city.

Similarly, sources revealed, the district administration, too, was determined to prevent the assemblage of people and gatherings.

Earlier, district and sessions court in Islamabad sentenced PTI chairman to three years in prison and disqualified him from politics for five years in Toshakhana criminal case.

While pronouncing the verdict, Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar said the accused has been found indulged in “corrupt practices.

Slapping a fine of Rs100,000, the court ordered Islamabad inspector general of police to arrest Imran Khan immediately. In case of non-payment on fine, the PTI chief would spend another six months in prison.
