Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar had a meeting on Wednesday.
The duo discussed matters of national interests as well as measures to mark the upcoming Independence Day with fervor.
Pakistan is turning 75 on August 14 and the nation is all set to mark the event with zeal. For this purpose, the state organs too chalked out a plan, under which active participation of the youth would be ensured.
It was informed during the meeting that June 30 date had been fixed for participation in the national songs’ contests being held from July 1-9 and the successful candidates would be invited to Islamabad.
The winners will be provided with the opportunity of showing their skills on national television from August 11 to 14. Pakistan embassies across the world will also hold ceremonies to mark the event. They expressed satisfaction with the plan.
The diamond jubilee celebrations would be made a memorable occasion to promote national solidarity, unity, and cohesiveness, they stressed adding that all cultures and federating colours would be part of the festivities.
The minister appreciated the spirit and devotion of the teams and departments and their preparations for the national events.
