Two dead, nine injured after gas explosion in Karachi

At least two women died and nine others received burn injuries Saturday when an explosion occurred due to gas leakage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The sad incident took place in a flat located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi. 

According to SSP East Karachi Abdul Rahim Shirazi, the blast was caused by a gas cylinder. The blast also caused substantive damage to adjacent three to four flats, he added. 

Injured persons have been shifted to Civil Hospital’s Burn Ward by Chhipa Ambulance Service, where two women died during the treatment. They are identified as Sana (40), wife of Bashir Ahmed, and Alishbah (18) daughter of Bashir Ahmed. 

Hamza (5), son of Bashir Ahmed and Umar Badshah (40) are included among the injured.
