The Islamabad High Court has hinted at giving its verdict on the petition of PTI Chairman Imran Khan challenging his trial in jail and appointment of a judge in the cipher case in 2-3 days, reported 24News HD TV channel.

IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on Friday heard the petition of the PTI chairman for early decision.

Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat appeared on behalf of Imran Khan.

Mr. Marwat said that the jail trial of the cipher case has started, but the decision has not yet come on our request, the cipher case is scheduled for jail hearing again on Monday.

Chief Justice Farooq remarked, “I will hurry. Not on Monday, but I will make a decision in two or three days.”

The judge also inquired of the PTI chairman’s lawyer if they had an objection to Imran Khan’s transfer to Adiala Jail as was reported in the press. He wondered that the PTI chief himself had petitioned for his transfer from Attock to Adiala Jail.

However, the lawyer said that no such statement was given officially by us.

Mr Marwat said that we thought that B Class would be given in Adiala Jail but it was not given, on which the Chief Justice remarked that better class would be given. He said that he would issue an order on the petition filed by Advocate Latif Khan Khosa yesterday.

It should be noted that the verdict on the petition against jail trial and judge appointment has already been reserved.

The PTI chairman has challenged the Law Ministry’s notification regarding holding of his trial in the cipher case at Adiala Jail in the Islamabad High Court.

The jurisdiction of the anti-terrorism court judge to hear the cases registered under the Official Secrets Act has also been challenged.

The petitioner made Law Secretary, Home Secretary, Chief Commissioner, IG police, FIA DG, Superintendent Adiala Jail, and Superintendent Attock Jail respondents in the case.
