Man shoots dead murder accused in front of Sargodha judge

A man shot a murder accused dead in the garb of a lawyer before a judge during the case hearing in the courtroom in Sargodha, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Sargodha Cantt police arrested the accused identified as Raheel and registered a case against him under 7ATA (Anti-Terrorism Act).

The deceased, Amanat Ali, was buried in Chak 82 North. He was arrested from abroad a few days ago with the help of Interpol and handed over to police.

“The murder incident in the courtroom is the result of poor security,” Sargodha Bar Association President Rana Zafar Yasin said.

Lawyers also expressed concerns over the poor security arrangements and demanded that security at district courts be enhanced.

Lawyer, clerk injured in firing by woman

A woman shot at and injured a lawyer and his clerk on the court premises in Tandlianwala.

Malik Siddique Awan Advocate was seriously injured in firing by the woman.

His clerk Rab Nawaz was also injured in an attempt to snatch the pistol from the woman.

A security guard shot the woman dead.

Malik Siddique Awan Advocate and clerk Rab Nawaz were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for medical treatment where the former was referred to Faisalabad due to his critical condition.

Police also reached the site on information and launched investigations.

Scuffle in LHC courtroom

A scuffle broke out between a petitioner and an accused during of a check-bounce case in Lahore High Court on Friday.

LHC security staff intervened and overpowered the accused while Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry disposed of accused Tariq’s pre-arrest bail plea.
