Number of pending cases increases from 54,965 to 56,944 in one month

Supreme Court caseload multiplies rapidly

Number of pending cases in the Supreme Court of Pakistan are increasing rapidly as during the one month the caseload has swollen from 54,965 to 56,944 after adding 1,579 casesy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to a report about the pending cases till August 3 issued by apex court, the number of civil petitions pending in the Supreme Court reached 30,578 while civil appeals pending in the court climbed up to 9,875.

The number of criminal applications pending in the Supreme Court is 9,384 while the number of pending revision applications is 1,653, the report said.

The SC report further revealed that about 25 suo motu notices are pending in the Supreme Court and a reference is also pending in the Supreme Court.
