After gruesome murder of three brothers inside police lock-up, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Tandlianwala Dr Mohammad Abid Khan on Tuesday suspended nine police officials for showing negligence and inefficiency while performing their duty, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The suspended police officials included former SHO City Tandlianwala Inspector Basharat Ali, Investigation Officer Tandlianwala Inspector Imran Sarwar, SHO City Tandlianwala Sub-Inspector Khalid Pervez, SHO Saddar Tandianwala Sub-Inspector Mubasshir Hussain, Mohrar Head Constable Naeem Hassan, Mohrar Head Constable Police Station Saddar Nauman Ali. Head Constable Police Station Tandianwala Riaz Ahmad, Constable Police Station Saddar Mohammad Usman.

Dr Mohammad Abid Khan said that investigation was being conducted against the supervisory officers who showed negligence while performing their duty.

He further said that any policeman who found involved in showing negligence, inefficiency while performing security duty will be dealt as per law.

He said that providing safe security to every citizen is top priority of police officials.

Funeral prayers held

The funeral prayers for the three brothers, who were murdered inside the Saddar Tandlianwala Police Station in the Faisalabad district, were offered in their native village on Tuesday, while police have detained eight more suspects in connection with these brutal killings.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, a total of 18 suspects are under investigation, and authorities have sought NADRA’s assistance to identify individuals captured on CCTV footage.

Efforts to retrieve mobile phone data from the area are also underway, and a fact-finding committee is set to submit its report to the Punjab Inspector General (IG) today.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for the slain brothers—Bilal, Usman, and Nasir—were held in their native village, Chak 422 GB, under heavy police security. The prayers were attended by police officials, family members, and a large number of locals.

Yesterday, due to police negligence, a group of armed assailants stormed the Saddar Tandlianwala Police Station and executed the three brothers, who were locked up in connection with a murder case. The attackers also injured their cousin, Asif, who remains in critical condition.

The assailants entered the police station using wooden ladders from behind. A guard on duty attempted to resist but was injured in the exchange of fire. The attackers, believed to be from a rival group, escaped after the attack.

The slain brothers were reportedly involved in the murder of members of the Kharal community, with whom they had a longstanding feud over a tube well dispute. This rivalry has claimed nine lives to date.

The police had placed the brothers in the Saddar Police Station instead of the City Police Station due to threats against them. Despite this precaution, the attackers managed to infiltrate and carry out the murders.

IG Punjab has taken notice of the incident and directed the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad to submit a detailed report.
