FJMU launches national outreach programme in collaboration with NAHE

The inaugural ceremony of the National Outreach Programme, a groundbreaking initiative between Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) Lahore and the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, took place on Monday at the university’s premises.
The event marked a significant step towards fostering academic excellence and professional development in higher education.
The program aims to enhance faculty capabilities and academic quality, focusing on faculty development, research management, and leadership in the financial and academic spheres.
The Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, served as the Patron-in-Chief of the event.
Madam Rushda Lodhi, Parliamentary Secretary for Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, Punjab, and Prof Noreen Akmal, the former Principal of FJMU were guests of honor.
Prof. Gondal emphasized the transformative potential of the program, highlighting its role in improving faculty skills, knowledge, and leadership abilities.
He thanked the HEC Chairman, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, and NAHE’s Dr. Noor Amna Malik, for recognizing FJMU’s contributions and including it in their training initiatives.
Madam Rushda Lodhi praised the university's reputation as a center of excellence in medical education and research. Highlighting the importance of practical application of the knowledge gained, she encouraged the faculty to integrate the learnings into their professional practices, benefiting students, patients, and the broader medical community.
Notable figures attended the event, including Registrar Prof Muhammad Nadeem, Deans Prof Ayesha Malik, Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Prof Aliya Zahid, Dr Taskin Zahra, Dr Warda Ashraf, and Focal Person Dr Saira Manoor.
Dr Arifa Tahir from Lahore College for Women University also contributed as the coordinator.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Registrar Prof. Muhammad Nadeem, followed by a group photograph commemorating the launch of this pivotal program.
