Member Punjab Assembly and wife of the famous journalist, and former PCB chairman and interim Punjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi, Syeda Jugnu Mohsin miraculously survived an attempt on her life in Akhtar Abad, Hujra Shah Muqim, Okara, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Monday.

Reportedly, MPA Jugnu Mohsin received threats on social media in which some people were asking her not to hold a rally in Jujh Kalan and threatened her that they would attack her if she would go ahead with her planned public meeting.

True to their words, when Ms Mohsin went to hold a rally, the accused intercepted her caravan, opened fire on them, hurled stones and attacked them with clubs.

One car was damaged due to the accused’s firing. However, the accused fled when their pistol jammed as a bullet was stuck in it.

An FIR has been registered in the Hujra Shah Muqim police station against six unnamed accused.

The main accused is still at large while the police have arrested his two accomplices in late night operation, the sources said.
