Man awarded 12-year jail term for rape attempt

A court in Rawalpindi has awarded a 12-year jail term besides slapping Rs200,000 in fine on a man for attempting to rape a 10-year-old girl, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
A District and Sessions Court awarded 10-year jail sentence and also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on Zeeshan Ali.
The case was registered against Zeeshan Ali at Sadar Police Station of the city in 2021.
CCPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani said that an effective prosecution led to the conviction of the accused.
