A public hospital nurse in Lahore administered a wrong injection to a dengue patient putting his life in danger, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Reportedly, 45-year-old Waris Juma was suffering from dengue fever and he came to the General Hospital for treatment.

According to Waris’ family, the nurse at the hospital administered a Measles injection to him instead of the dengue fever injection due to which his arm turned blue and other marks also appeared on it.

The poor patient forgot his dengue fever and started crying over what was happening to his arm after the injection.

The callous hospital administration told the patient that he should go to some other hospital as medical procedures were not available in the hospital.

The family took the patient to the Jinnah Hospital where he underwent surgery and his arm was saved.

Though the patient survived the fatal negligence of the unskilled hospital nurse, his family demanded justice.

General Hospital’s Principal Prof Alfarid Zafar assured that an inquiry would be conducted into the matter and facts would be brought to light after an investigation. He said an action would be taken against the responsible as per the law.

He formed a 5-member committee that would present its report in two days.

The doctor also asked the committee members to make immediate contact with the relatives of the patient.
