Holding Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) responsible for the country’s economic collapse, former member of the National Assembly (MNA), belonging to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Shahida Rehmani, said on Thursday that all PML-N ministers, who were included in the last coalition government’s cabinet, failed to deliver, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to City 21, she said that the PML-N had the habit of shifting the blame of its own failures to others so that it could hide its incompetence.
She reiterated her party’s demand for general elections within 90 days of the dissolution of the National Assembly. “PPP has already demanded elections within the stipulated time period, and will continue to make that demand,” she said categorically.
Shahida refused to accept that PPP was part of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of political parties, which ruled the country following the ouster of the PTI government in April 2022. “As a matter of fact, the party was part of the government, and not the PDM,” she clarified.
Ex-PPP MNA said that concern was shown over inflation at the recently held meeting of the CEC.
She claimed that the foreign policy devised by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who was foreign minister in the last government, was ‘historic’. “He won applause for that from around the world,” she added.
