A two-judge new Lahore High Court (LHC) will now take up the plea of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz pleading that her name be taken off the ECL.
After dissolution of the earlier bench, the LHC Chief Justice on Saturday constituted the new bench which will be headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi. The other judge is Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh.
On January 8, the court fixed the plea of the PML-N Vice-President regarding the Exit Control List (ECL) issue. During the proceedings into the case on January 21, the judge questioned the reason for which Maryam Nawaz is insisting to travel abroad.
The lawyer replied that her father, Nawaz Sharif, was severely ill. The judge questioned again as if her father is alone and nobody is there to take care of him. The counsel said Maryam Nawaz is his daughter and it is her right to look after her father.
