The Punjab government has declared as many as 5,500 polling stations in the province highly sensitive, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Spokesman of Punjab government and provincial minister Amir Mir said on Wednesday that arrangements have been completed to conduct elections across Punjab.
Amir Mir said that the caretaker government of Punjab will ensure the conduct of free and fair elections.
Strict security measures will be taken at polling stations on election day, Aamir Mir said.
“Immediate action will be taken against those who try to cheat and mischief”, said Amir Mir.
He said that more than 20 thousand policemen will be deployed to maintain law and order while 10,000 Army and Rangers personnel will also perform duty on election-day.
If there is a law and order problem, the Quick Response Force will come into action and special police forces will be deployed at each polling station, said Amir Mir.
He said that as many as 32000 CCTV cameras were installed at thousands of sensitive declared polling stations.
Control rooms of CCPOs and DPOs will also monitor the election process, he said.
