The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Friday unveiled the provisional merit list for admissions 2023-24 to government medical and dental colleges in Punjab, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

The list comprises the top 5000 eligible candidates and out of this pool, 3389 candidates are set to secure admissions in MBBS and BDS programs.

The UHS spokesperson revealed that the provisional list meticulously outlines the candidates eligible for open merit and quota seats.

According to the list, the open merit percentage for MBBS stands at 91.3%, while for BDS, it is slightly lower at 91.1%.

The list can be viewed on its official web site and candidates are given a 48-hour window to file objections to the interim merit list.

The UHS spokesperson emphasizes that objections must be submitted exclusively through the online complaint portal, and it is mandatory to accompany objections with relevant documentary evidence.

The final merit list, incorporating any upheld objections, will be unveiled on December 12.

This final list will serve as the basis for the allocation of candidates to various medical and dental colleges in Punjab.

The UHS spokesperson announced that admission allocations will be determined by a combination of merit and the candidate's preferences for specific colleges.

The first selection list for medical college allotment will be released on December 15.
